Though construction began in 2016, the idea for Bakerie had been proofing since 2013. Using traditional equipment and old-world processes, Bakerie provides a creatively liberating environment for its bakers and staff. The result is a variety of exceptional artisanal breads and pastry, like the traditional volkornbrot, and exquisite pastry from Chef Razia Achrak. Bakerie’s bread and pastry are matched by perfect viennoiserie, made in classical methods. And Bakerie always offers a rotating selection of new and innovative holiday items, such as our hugely popular chocolate covered hammantaschen for Purim, or elaborately decorated doughnuts for Chanukah. As we grow we will be offering an exciting new range of sweet and savory options!
Chef Razia brings her vast experience as the executive pastry chef in the renown King David Hotel in Jerusalem and the King David Hotel in Prague. Razia trained by world leading pastry chefs in Paris such as Chef Pierre Herme, Patisserie Chef Zil Marshall, Patisserie Chef Jonathan Bolt. Her mission is to introduce New York’s kosher market to a whole new level of pastry.
